Early Flowers

Blue flower, hahaha, keeping the names simple
white with pink hue flower
Only 7 more bikes to be built then its my turn. Having a new bike built this year is a little bitter sweet. In what way? Well, let me tell ya. My body is playing on a different level than my mind . Growing old can be painful with a beaten down body. And with the anticipation of obtaining a dream come true my body seems to be rebelling and going in the opposite direction of a happy cyclist about to receive a custom frame. Not to mention it costs more than a 6 month vacation to the Maldives.Hey,priorities I can surf the Maldives next year.
green leaves
Very cool weather in the morning ,still getting down to the 20's F @ night, too cold for fruit blossoms.Unfortunately this probably means another year without apricots.
Scratch and sniff your screen.
ohh that smell is a cure all.
In a couple of weeks the scent of lilacs will fill the air.
I'm going to take some time to sit and contemplate, hope y'all have the same opportunity .

Birds a chirpin

Spring time
and I need replace last years help. Its not a job for just anyone the suit has to fit,you know, like Johnny Bravo. I kind of imagine the Burley's  had the Johnny Bravo discussion with their son. Apparently he's out exploring or sowing oats in other pastures. or He's out on a world tour ...That's what I told them at the house when they asked about Isaac.
or maybe he has become an au pair for Evil Dominic

Looking forward to riding with friends and having a fun filled cycling season.

Fuck me if I can't take a joke

Lilac buds
gophers helping with aerating the veggy garden.
I've been trying to set up my printer and it did not come with a USB cable. Son of a bitch,a trip to office depot is in demand ,hope it feels like that stupid progressive commercial .Where the lady with too much make up  comes out and assists you.Oh the joy.
 Oriental poppy.
Soon as I get the printer set up I can fill out the fit form for my bike being built by Walt up in Boulder.Talk about anticipation waiting six months for the bike to be designed, welded, painted and put together.Well worth it .If I wanted one built any faster I could of gone to another builder like Strong or Retrotec.I chose Walt because of his no nonsense building philosophy and he rides the same trails I ride.Plus its lo key enough of a builder I won't look like a MOOTS douche.Don't get me wrong I know a really nice guy who rides a moots, only one.All the rest who ride a muuts are tools, what?
Tulips coming up between the lavender.
Now ,I just have to recover from my groin pull that occurred on Saturday while standing on my pedals going up a hill.Recovering on a daily basis and haven't done anything but effortless town pedaling since.I hope to get back at it this weekend.Wait and see.

Certified Spring

La Tierra
Started to substitute distance rides with dirt rides. So long pavement my heart will grow fonder with some distance and time between us.Warm weather and dry trails means less time for riding and more time needed at work .Massive amounts of spring clean up had to be done, like yesterday..Still have to contend with a lot of snow drifts on the shady sides so the raking is limited to what is dry.Makes me think I'll do all my cut back during fall this year and not have to contend with another  major spring clean.
Looks like i need to break out the tools and start moving some compost for the new veggie garden @ home.
I will need a Rake, great song .We still have a month and a half before the last threat of a killing frost is gone. Can't wait to be eating fresh produce from the back yard garden. yuMMMMy.
I like putting things in fire

I think my housemate Matt does too.

booty, call the fire department my boots on fire.

got any burning desires?

Long road rides and no ipod, no problem song one in brain is  this Dylan.Love the ghost face Dylan years.Back in the '70s i remember Sunday drives in the family car for an adventure !  exploring where ever a road goes..These days that's how I treat my bike rides. .Still riding road cause of the snow.
just past the stink aka Santa Fe sewage treatment.

looking south, think I'll go that way

riding thru narrow roads of Villa de la Swamp

Sweet green and terraced ,those folks have some $ to spend on landscaping.

I must admit ,I have an attraction to church architecture This church begs me to climb it but I'm too chicken shit ,old and weak.A little warmer temps have hit the area so the plaza was seeing alot more action than last time I rode thru.
I started feeling the sniffels this morning when I woke up.Really bums me out just when the weather is getting warm and the day light lasts past 7 pm ,I start to feel a cold coming on.First cold in about 2 or 3 years, fucking social caused illnesses.I was able to squeak out a meager 30 miler with out much effort given my conditions.Beautiful day .
San Antonio mountain in  the distance, really far distance.
Cockle Bur,yes its edible.
here's a little list of companion plants in you veggy garden.I may post a longer version in the near future.
Tomatoes like to be planted next to chives, onion, parsley, marigold.nasturtiums, carrots,They dislike being planted next to Kohlrabi, potato, fennel, cabbage.
Peas like carrots, turnips, radishes, cucumbers, corn, beans, most vegetables and herbs.Dislikes of peas be planted next to onions, garlic, potato. You want a more detailed list let me know and I will post one up.
leave you with Yeasayer, love this song.

Somedays No Jacket others Yes Jacket

Galisteo Church

Did a lovely 200 minute [50-60 miles?]  ride on Saturday what I call the Galisteo loop. From the house I started east to old Las Vegas hwy.passing up a chance to eat a great hamburger @ BobcatBiteI spun my way thru Eldorado,NM.Anticipating the view I'm about to get when I drop down to the Galisteo Basin.
the view over looking the ranch I use to work on back in the late 90's.

No longer a single family owned and operated ranch. The recent news is that its to be subdivided and developed into ,I could really careless, something.
Few miles down the road is the village of Galisteo,NM. Host to the best rodeo I've ever been too.Rivals the bloodiest Central American rodeo you can imagine.Pure authenticity.
blink and you'll miss it.
Galisteo street life.
Galisteo zoo in the distance.
plant life along the roadway

Then Sunday I had the itch to hike Atalaya Mtn.
Alot of ice on the frequently used trails.
Over looking Sun and Moon Mtn.'s
A storm was moving in pretty fast .When I reached the top the sun broke thru the clouds for about 30 seconds.
Then once again the snow socked me in.
Right before I 'post hole' my way down.
